Recent presentations and press exploring grief and loss

"Nicole Alston presented on grief and non-death losses during our Patient Safety Awareness Week at NYC Health + Hospitals, the nation's largest municipal health care system. Her expertise, wisdom, and compassion was palpable through the presentation. Ms. Alston's skilled presentation guided the audience through a self-learning experience which acknowledged common experiences and gave usable strategies to move forward.  One of our attendees accurately described it as "this presentation felt like a virtual hug." I highly recommend Nicole's expertise and experience as a presenter in the field of wellness."

“Nicole Alston recently presented a wonderful workshop on dealing with grief to our SMART University class. SMART is an organization of women living with chronic illnesses and other challenges related to marginalization. Nicole introduced the concept of "prolonged grief," explaining that grief wasn't a contained experience with a beginning and end, but an ebbing and flowing process that extended over a lifetime. She spoke about different kinds of grief or loss, but primarily focused on the loss of a loved one. This was an intimate class on Zoom where women were able to relate their own personal experiences with loss and receive comforting guidance and support. We're so grateful to Nicole for sharing her expert wisdom with us!”
